The NouHätä! campaign

The NouHätä! campaign is a national safety skills campaign for eighth graders in secondary schools. The campaign improves young people’s ability to anticipate and prevent hazardous situations. The campaign teaches young people what to do in case of an accident.

Teachers have access to electronic materials in the website’s teaching materials bank to support the teaching of safety skills. After signing up, you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your local rescue department’s contact person. Contact your local rescue services for a school visit or other assistance to support the teaching.

How to participate

  1. Sign up early in the autumn. This ensures that you get the full benefits of the campaign.
  2. Sign up no later than 15 January 2025.
  3. Schools that enroll at the start of the school year have more flexibility in scheduling a school visit with rescue services.
  4. Signing up for the campaign does not require participation in the competition.
  5. Make use of the free teaching materials. There is also comprehensive educational material available for students.
  6. Organise one or several NouHätä! lessons either in cooperation with rescue services or on your own with the help of high-quality teaching materials.
  7. If you and your students so wish, you can enter the NouHätä! competition.
